Background
Dr. Nkan is from Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area. Born on October 24, 1968. Dr. Nkan is happily married to an adorable entrepreneur and beauty magnate, Mrs Doris Nkan, and the marriage is blessed with lovely children. Prior to his appointment as Commissioner in December, 2016, he had served as the State Accountant-General between July 2015-December 2016.
Career
Dr. Nkan got his first appointment with the Ideal Flour Mills Ltd., Kaduna before venturing into the banking industry where he had a fruitful and impacting career with some banks including FBN(Merchants Bankers) LTD; Zenith Bank Plc. where he rose to the position of Assistant General Manager and Zonal Head, Akwa Ibom State Zone.
The quintessential finance expert is well versed in Accounting and Public Finance Management having attended professional trainings in relevant areas including; Macro Economic Review for Bank Executives, High Performance People Skills in London Business School. London, United Kingdom and Leading High Performance Leaders by Havard Business School.
He has proved himself apt, knowledgeable and reputable by bringing in some innovations into the State Payroll System, a drive that berthed the most effective and reliable Payroll System in the State with attendant result of prompt and regular payment of salaries of workers. This innovation also helped in eliminating ghost workers and other irregularities from the State Payroll System.
