Elder Effiong Essien, FNMGS is a distinguished Civil Servant, having risen to the pick of his professional career in service as a Geologist, appointed as a Permanent Secretary and Head of Civil Service Akwa Ibom State by the State Government.

He is a Distinguished Old Student (DOS) of the prestigious Lutheran High School, Obot Idim Ibesikpo and the University of Calabar.

  • 1994 – 1995 Principal Geologist, Min. of Works & Transport on posting to Task Force on U. S. Exim Bank Financed Water Project, Akwa Ibom State.
  • 1995 – 1999 Chief – Assistant Director, Geology Min. of Works & Transport on posting to Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (AK-RUWATSAN)
