… congratulates Mr and Mrs Dwight Uma for tying the nuptial knot
Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has vowed to prioritize the unity of the state and run a government targeted at delivering dividends of democracy to the people in line with the ARISE Agenda blueprint of his administration.
The Governor gave the assurances while speaking at a marriage ceremony between former Miss Aniekeme Godwin Eyo from Oruk Anam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State and Mr. Dwight Ologu Uma, son of a prominent Uyo based, Gospel Evangelist, Reverend Uma Ukpai, at the Victory Cathedral of the Uma Ukpai Evangelical Association, Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo.
Governor Eno called for support in the growth of the state’s economy and commended the couple for hosting the event in the state, saying that the array of visitors that the wedding has attracted would boost the tourism sector and enhanced economic activities during the weekend, reiterating his avowed determination to build on existing developments in the state.
“Today we are here to serve Akwa Ibom people. We are here to bring Akwa Ibom together, we are here to unite this state because we have only one State we can call our own and I stand here as a man that God has sent with the ministry of reconciliation and I promise under God, standing on this exalted pulpit I treat everyone without any iota of anything in my heart against anyone.
“We need to join our State together. We need to move forward, we need to grow our economy and develop our people and by the grace of God we are determined to do just that.
“Everyone will be happy and through the ARISE Agenda of our Government, we will be sure that Akwa Ibom people have Jobs and food security.
“We will develop our infrastructure and support our educational system and provide good health facilities.
“This is the commitment we made to every Akwa Ibom person because you also made me to promise by God that no one will be good enough to be my enemy.”
The governor acknowledged and thanked the father of the groom, Reverend Uma Ukpai for his fatherly role in the state, especially in the events leading to his emergence as governor and assured of his resolve to unite the state.
“Daddy, on behalf of Government and people of Akwa Ibom, we thank you.
“Let me thank you publicly for your prayers.
“For those prayers you offered. I would like to say publicly, you were one of those that said to me, you knew I will be the next Governor of Akwa Ibom State and at that time, His Excellency (the former Governor) had not yet spoken to me. So I told you I don’t know and you said , God has spoken, I remember upstairs.
“So I would like to thank you for speaking clarity to the vision that God gave you.
“I want to thank you for standing by that vision in spite of all the confusion that we had.”
He congratulated the couple, Aniekeme and Dwight for the bold decision to come together to start a family, and prayed God’s love and wisdom on them to build an exemplary home.
Earlier in a sermon, Pastor Charis Essien-Obong of the Restoration Grace Assembly, Uyo, urged the couple to make conscious efforts to establish the presence of God in their union, and sustain the joy in their home.
The peak of the ceremony was the joining of the couple by the Senior Pastor of Royal House of Grace International Church, Port Harcourt, Apostle Zilly Aggrey, signing of the marriage documents and prayers for the couple led by the Reverend Uma Ukpai.
