Background
Rt. Hon. Dr. Henry Okon Archibong was born on August 21, 1966, in Mbak Obio Itam, Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. He is a seasoned medical doctor, accomplished public health professional, and distinguished political leader with over three decades of experience across healthcare, governance, and community development.
Education
Dr. Archibong began his academic journey at State School II, Ikot Ekpene Street, Mile I Diobu, Port Harcourt. He proceeded to Immaculate Conception Seminary, Mfamosing, Akamkpa (Cross River State), and later attended the Federal School of Arts and Sciences, Umungasi, Aba, Abia State, where he served as Class Representative from 1985 to 1986.
He earned his medical degree (MBBCh) from the University of Calabar in 1994, where he also held leadership roles as Class Representative, Choir Master of St. Paul’s Catholic Church Choir, and member of the UNICAL/CUMSA football team.
Dr. Archibong holds multiple postgraduate qualifications, including:
