… assures of Gov Umo Eno’s commitment to ICT development

The ICT and Digital Services Directorate of the Akwa Ibom State government has assured members of the Akwa Ibom Tech community of the government’s readiness to collaborate with the tech-community inline with the Arise Agenda of the Umo Eno led administration in the development of the ICT sector in the State.

These were the primary focus of discussion, Wednesday at a maiden meeting of the Directorate held with key players in the ICT sector at the Signature by Royalty Hotel, Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.

Addressing the gathering, aides of the Governor from the Directorate, headed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on ICT and Digital Services, Dr. Frank Ekpenyong, Personal Assistant to the Governor on IT Security, Network and Surveillance Systems, Mr. Andino Nkim, and Mrs. Lucie Ekong, the Personal Assistant to the Governor on Data Warehousing and Artificial Intelligence, who all had the opportunity to engage with each member of the Akwa Ibom Tech Community present at the meeting, assured of the Directorate’s readiness to partner the Akwa Ibom-tech community in driving innovation, identifying avenues for collaboration to provide tech-solutions that would positively impact the  lives of the citizenry.

Dr. Frank Ekpenyong, in his speech, reiterated Governor Umo Eno’s visionary plans for the people of the State, as outlined in the Arise Agenda, and emphasized the significance of the tech community’s contribution in translating these plans into reality and encouraged the community members to explore the agenda deeply, identify areas where they can collaborate with the government.

Mr. Andino Nkim, Personal Assistant to the Governor on IT Security, Network and Surveillance Systems in his speech thanked the Akwa Ibom Tech Community for identifying with the Governor’s blueprint and showing commitment to collaborate and contribute to the implementation of the vision of Governor Umo Eno in the ICT sector. He urged them to be steadfast in their pursuit of the great initiative as key partners.

The meeting was attended by a diverse range of participants, including key players from the Akwa Ibom Tech Community, influential tech hub CEOs, and members of the various hubs including Start Innovation Hub Uyo, The Roothub Uyo, LASkills Uyo, FutureLabs Ikot Ekpene, Matrix Hub among others.

The ICT and Digital Services Directorate of the Governor’s Office is headed by the  Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on ICT and Digital Services, Dr. Frank Ekpenyong, Special Assistant to the Governor on Website and Multimedia Streaming, Engr. Solomon Eyo, Personal Assistant to the Governor on IT Security, Network and Surveillance Systems, Mr. Andino Nkim, and Personal Assistant to the Governor on Data Warehousing and Artificial intelligence, Mrs. Lucie Ekong, serving as Members of the Directorate.

  1. Good to read about this directorate. It gives hope that the strides in applications development in this state will be projected and adopted in government services. Please create an exhibition event of indigenous ready-to-go ICT works, something like a week-long open exhibition at the e-library. I am available to expatiate on this.
