Akwa Ibom government has reiterated its commitment to promoting investors’ friendly policies that will attract investments to the state. Charles Udoh, commissioner for information and strategy, stated this when he received members of the state chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and students of the University of Uyo visited him.
Udoh who explained that the state needed to be portrayed in a positive light noted that state is abound with natural resources in all sectors including agricultural produce, sea foods, cuisines, serene recreational environment which should be showcased to boost the profile of Akwa Ibom state said the state government has created the enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
According to him, the state government is building human capacity to make the people qualified to manage the sustainable oriented projects and programmes that the government is embarking on.
The state government is sincere by not embarking on flamboyant projects but rather undertaking accessible projects with high sustainability and revenue yields, such as the pencil and tooth-pick factory.
He presented copies of the 2017 state calendar to the groups, which showcases the milestones of the 20 month old Udom Emmanuel administration, under the theme, “Promised made, promise delivered”.
Meanwhile the state government says it has so far constructed over 700 kilometres of road across the three senatorial districts of the state.
The roads which are to be inaugurated during the second anniversary of the state governor’s administration include Nto – Edino road in Obot Akara, Ikot Okim Ikono road in Ikono , Atan Ofot road in Uyo, Ntiero street in Uyo , Ikot Osup in Mkpat Enin road , Eket -Ibeno road , Obio Etoi road behind Secretariat Annex and Ndan Esit road that connects Nsit Atai and Ibesikpo local Government Areas and Ikot Ebiere road in Onna local government.
Ephraim Inyang, the commissioner for works made this known while answering questions in Uyo, the state capital.
