Prof. Eno Blankson Ikpe
Prof. Eno Blankson Ikpe, is the Commissioner for Investment, Commerce and Industry. An excellent mixer, who hails from Etinan LGA, Prof. Ikpe is a proponent of modern and contemporary History who studied in Nigeria and Germany.
She gathered her working experience from the University of Magdeburg (Germany), University of Lagos and the University of Uyo. In the University of Uyo, she served variously as Director, Centre for Cultural studies, Head, Department of History and International Studies, Vice Dean, Faculty of Arts; Dean faculty of Arts; adjunct professor, Akwa Ibom State University as well as sit in many Committees in University of Uyo.
Prof Ikpe, who is a regular visiting scholar to the University of Muenster, Germany holds a B.A, History from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (Calabar Campus), M. A History, University of Lagos; Diploma in German Language and a doctorate degree in Modern and Contemporary Social and Economic History from Germany.
The Commissioner is a recipient of various academic awards, including the prestigious awards of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
Her major interests are in Social and Economic History where she has various publications, including her seminal publications in food, sexuality and gender studies. Among publications to her credit include; a History of Food Economy, Food Customs and Cultural Change (1900-1989), human Sexuality in Nigeria: a historical Perspective (Ed.) African Women and Power in the 20th and 21st Centuries, Lagos: Fragrance. 2009.
