Mr. Idorenyin Sunday Udo

Mr. Idorenyin Sunday Udo, is the Commissioner for Economic Development and Manpower Planning. An accomplished accountant and public servant, Udo, has risen through the ranks in the Federal civil service.

With a philosophy to offer the best accounting service through hard work, dedication and professionalism, he has successfully achieved 33 years of meritorious service to the Federal government.

The Commissioner is respected for his commitment to accounting ethics, having served dedicatedly as account clerk, assistant executive officer, accounts and cashier to the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, Calabar. Furthermore, he has served as accountant, Toll Plaza, Itu Bridge, Akwa Ibom; deputy accountant, Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, field headquarters, Uyo; accountant, Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, Uyo and Police pay officer for Taraba, Plateau and Imo States.

The Commissioner also had a stint with the Federal Ministry of Transport and Aviation, Inland Waterways Division, Calabar; Nigeria Prisons Service, Uyo and Ministry of Police Affairs, Abuja.

Until his appointment as Commissioner, Mr. Idorenyin Sunday Udo, was the Head of Recurrent Account, Federal Ministry of Water Resources, Abuja.

The Commissioner is a member of many professional bodies, including the Nigeria Institute of Management; Institute of Cost and Management Accountants, Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Nigeria and Institute of Loans and Risk Management of Nigeria.

Born on July 6, 1960, Udo, attended St. Michael’s Primary School, Ndon Omum and St. Pius Primary School, Ikot Itie Udung, for his FSLC; A.M.E. Zion Secondary Commercial School, Ndon Ebom for his WASC and University of Uyo and University of Jos for his tertiary education certificates.
Mr. Idorenyin Udo, an indigene of Ndon Omum, Essien Itiaba in Nsit Atai LGA, is married with children.
