I am most grateful for your unwavering support and collaboration to continue to keep the peace and safety that Akwa Ibom State is widely known for.”
IGP Disu implored the Governor to keep on taking the Police Officers as his own, stressing that “It has come to the point in our country that everybody must own the Police; the security of our communities and our States belongs to all of us.”
He emphasized the importance of community policing and partnership, adding that, “We are all partners in ensuring that peace endures in our communities, and that, law and order do not break down. We should open our eyes to report and correct our Officers for the better.”
The Inspector General of Police informed the Governor of the passing out of over 1,000 Police Constables trained in the handling of firearms, saying “Akwa Ibom State is a trailblazer in the new training innovation that has today graduated up to 1,000 Police Constables certified to be effectively competent and professional in the handling of firearms.”
