Introduction
Rt. Hon. Mrs. Alice Ekpenyong was born on 20 September 1966. She hails from Eyo-Uwe Village in Udung Uko Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. She is a devout Christian and was married to the late Dr. Ekpeyong O. Ekpeyong of Uda Community in Mbo Local Government Area. The marriage is blessed with four children.
Rt. Hon. Mrs. Alice Ekpenyong has a strong academic background and a keen interest in scholarship and professional development. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Government/Public Administration and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Public Administration, both from Abia State University, Uturu. She is currently awaiting the award of a Ph.D. in Public Administration from the same institution.
She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administration and a Fellow of other professional bodies in Nigeria. Her academic and professional accomplishments reflect her commitment to excellence, leadership, and continuous personal development.
Political and Public Service Career
Rt. Hon. Mrs. Alice Ekpenyong began her political career in 1999 as a member of the Udung Uko Local Government Executive Council, where she served as Honourable Supervisor for Women Affairs. She later served as the Secretary-General of Women in Politics (WIP), Akwa Ibom State.
In 2007, she was elected into the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, where she represented the Mbo State Constituency for two consecutive terms, from 2007 to 2011 and from 2011 to 2015.
In recognition of her experience and capacity for public service, she was appointed by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari as a member of the Governing Board of the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, where she served from 2018 to 2020.
From 2020 to 2023, she served as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State on Skill Development under His Excellency, Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.
She subsequently served as Honorary Special Adviser on Women Mobilisation from 2023 to 2025. She is presently serving as Honourable Special Adviser, Bureau of Cooperatives and Rural Development, in the Akwa Ibom State Government.

Rt. Hon. Mrs. Alice Ekpenyong is a prominent political leader and seasoned administrator. She is a deft political strategist with proven electoral value, as well as a successful entrepreneur, consummate academic, and philanthropist.
A committed grassroots mobiliser, she is passionate about engaging with community members, building coalitions, and forming strategic alliances with local leaders and organisations. Through these efforts, she has continued to contribute to community development and the strengthening of grassroots participation in governance.
