The Akwa Ibom State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to economic transformation, private sector collaboration, and sustainable development as it participated in the third edition of Invest Lagos 3.0 held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The high-level investment forum, themed “Lagos: Business Gateway to Africa, Powering Africa’s Next Era of Trade, Talent and Global Economic Leadership,” was organised by the Lagos State Government in collaboration with the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council, attracting policymakers, investors, business leaders, and development partners from across Nigeria and beyond.
Representing the Akwa Ibom State Government at the event, the Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Akon Eyakenyi, who led the delegation, disclosed that the State’s participation at the strategic economic summit was at the directive of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, whose administration remains focused on positioning the State as a leading investment destination in Nigeria and West Africa.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, the delegation highlighted the remarkable strides recorded under the leadership of Governor Umo Eno, noting that the administration strongly believes in the power of private capital, strategic partnerships, and the critical role of the private sector in driving job creation, industrialisation, and inclusive economic growth.
The delegation further emphasised that Akwa Ibom State has continued to distinguish itself as one of the most peaceful and investor-friendly states in the country, with world-class infrastructure and deliberate investments across critical sectors including aviation, blue economy, power, healthcare, education, tourism, agriculture, and rural development.
According to the delegation, the ARISE Agenda of Governor Umo Eno is deliberately designed to open new economic frontiers, improve the ease of doing business, and create an enabling environment for local and international investors to thrive.
“Akwa Ibom is fast emerging as an economic powerhouse in Nigeria and West Africa. The State is strategically positioning itself through transformational infrastructure, human capital development, and sector-driven investments that align with global economic realities,” the delegation stated.
The participation of Akwa Ibom State at Invest Lagos 3.0 also served as an opportunity to deepen regional economic collaboration, attract investors, and showcase the vast economic opportunities available in the State.
Stakeholders at the event commended the visionary leadership of Governor Umo Eno and his administration’s proactive efforts toward economic diversification, investment promotion, and sustainable development.
With sustained investments in infrastructure and people-oriented policies, observers believe Akwa Ibom State is steadily consolidating its reputation as a preferred destination for business, innovation, tourism, and industrial expansion in Nigeria.
