Professor Eno James Ibanga is the Honourable Commissioner for Works and Fire Service

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Professor Eno Ibanga was born on June 05, 1956. He attended primary school in his village, Ikot Udo Idem and for his post primary education, he attended the famous Regina Coeli Secondary School in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area, where he obtained his West African School Certificate in 1974. In 1981, he obtained BSc in Engineering Physics and in 1986 an MSc in Engineering Physics from the University of Ife, now ( Obafemi Awolowo University). He further obtained his PhD in Solid State Physics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he graduated in 2000.

CAREER
Professor Eno Ibanga has taught at different levels of undergraduates and post graduate programmes. His teaching activities revolve around Quantum Mechanics, Statistical Mechanics, Solid State Physics, Material Science and Thermodynamics. He started his career in 1982 as a Graduate Assistant in the University of Calabar. He has also taught at the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Nassarawa State University, Keffi, and the University of Uyo, where he became a Professor in 2008.

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
Prof. Eno Ibanga has held many administrative positions in the University system such as Head of Department, Dean of Faculty, Dean of Student Affairs, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and Vice-Chancellor. He has also been member of Departmental and Faculty Boards including the University Senate. Prof. Ibanga was the pioneer DVC (Acad.) of the Akwa Ibom State University in 2013 and later became third Vice-Chancellor of the Institution in 2015.

ACHIEVEMENTS AS VICE-CHANCELLOR
As a Vice-Chancellor, his achievements include full accreditation of all the academic programmes, commencement of Postgraduate Programmes and infrastructural renaissance. Prudent fund management and good corporate governance characterised his tenure. International collaborations and linkages were established with institutions in US, China and UK.

FAMILY LIFE
Professor Eno J. Ibanga is a christian and an Elder of the Winners Chapel (aka) Living Faith Church. He is happily married to Dr. Ebi Eno-Ibanga and they are blessed with Children.
